BODY CONDITIONING
BODY CONDITIONING
Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12 One Semester/.5 credit
Prerequisite: Personal Fitness or Instructor Approval
This course is designed for the student who is experienced with weight and conditioning exercises. Body Conditioning is an advanced elective offering where the student would utilize the fitness center, specifically with the concepts of strength training. Goal development and attainment is a requirement as well as daily participation with strength and conditioning concepts. The student will learn to distinguish which activities will help them to develop, increase and maintain muscular strength and endurance. Core concepts that will be covered in this class could include power lifting, muscular strength and conditioning. The student can be assessed using writing and/or organizational assignments, goal development and technology projects. This course will utilize the different apparatuses that are available for strength and conditioning and will allow for a student to transfer their knowledge gained from the course to their future exercise goals.
